Les Foudres and Café Martin, on Place Martin-Nadaud, is undoubtedly one of the places where I spent most of my time when I started my career as a freelance illustrator. It was an escape from my Paris studio, a way to be sure to see people, a way to observe life, passersby, and bicycles while sitting strategically at a café table. This drawing is also the very first in the Paris series. That’s why I kept it as an emblem.
